The PRS for Music Foundation (PRSF) is a refreshingly approachable and adventurous funding body. As the UK’s only independent funder of new music across all genres, PRSF supports a huge range of new music activity – everything from unsigned band showcases to composer residencies, from ground-breaking commissions to live electronica.
PRSF provides grants to enable groundbreaking new work to be created and reach as many people as possible. It proactively sets up partnerships and initiatives across the sector and strive to make a real difference, helping music to grow for the benefit of everyone.
Over the past 10 years, PRSF has proved itself a significant force in supporting pioneering musical activity. It provides essential core support for creators, performers and promoters of live new music, while also underpinning outstanding new music projects. Since March 2000 it has supported over 3,400 new music initiatives with a total of over £13.5 million.
2010 is the third year that PRSF has supported SWN, and is proud to be a part of an ever-expanding festival. Our funding has helped the festival develop in to its third year as a permanent fixture in the music calendar, showcasing the best of Welsh and UK new music talent to a wide audience.
PRSF is pleased to be a part of the seminar programme this year, where you’ll be able to find out more about its work and funding opportunities for new music.
