    Huw M

In June this year Huw M (Huw Meredydd) released his debut album Os Mewn Sŵn (translated as ‘If in Noise’) on the Gwymon label. The album is a mix of original melodies, a few borrowed Welsh folk songs, mangled together with influences from France and Brazil, all conveyed in his Welsh mother tongue to create ‘small pop’ that’s been described as “an infectious, irresistible slice of pop loveliness.”

To date, Huw M has played in festivals such as End of the Road, the ‘SWN’ Festival in Cardiff twice, Camden Crawl, and the Taith Tafod tour. Huw has made appearances on various radio and television shows, including Radio 1 and 6 Music (including a session for Marc Riley), and in the spring of 2010 he won the awards for Best Solo Artist in the Welsh music magazine Y Selar’s Awards, and for Best Composer and Best Male Artist in BBC Radio Cymru’s Gwobrau RAP music awards.

Huw is joined by Lucy O’Connor on the cello and Bethan Reynolds on vocals and clog dancing.
